Bonnet Carre` Spillway 5-18-2011

Ryan and I took a trip to the Bonnet Carre` Spillway in Norco, LA today to see the spillway in action. At the current flow rate, it is said to be able to fill 4 olympic sized swimming pools per SECOND! It is going to disrupt the fishing in Lake Ponchartrain but it beats the alternative which is a flooded city. And we know what that feels like.

Cadence makes 5 Years Old

Cadence, AKA, my little Bugga Bugga, or Jenny’s Chuka Butt, or MawMaw’s Princess, made five years old today. She has 2 more days of Pre-K left and then it is on to the real world of school next year. Considering the number of red stickers that she received this year, I feel for the teachers who have her next year. She has grown up and the stickers have declined lately. Thank Goodness. She is one little smart cookie is all I can say. She will surely succeed in academics.

Well they did it.

Ryan and Christina walked across the stage at SELU to receive their diplomas. We are so proud of both of them considering the odds. They proved to the world that they can overcome those odds and meet their goals. Congratulations to both of you.
